Back to Black

Hello lovelies, hope you're all having a fab weekend so far...as the weather has been so bad recently I've struggled to get outdoors to shoot some outfits so apologies for the indoor pictures recently!

I must admit as you can probably tell by now I'm usually more of a pastel girl but I really love this monochrome trend that's seems to be ever-growing, especially the prints, like this gorgeous geometric oversized shirt dress from Missguided. I wore this for a meal with the girls, so comfy and perfect along with my Topshop boxy faux fur gilet. I've just spotted this online in grey which could be a fab transitional colour before spring appears. I also had to pick up this little triangle pouch bag from Topshop which I came across a few weeks back in Manchester. I love the chain detail and quirky shape making the perfect addition to so many outfits!

These black faux leather over the knee boots were a bargain from New Look, they have actually gone into the sale now so grab them quick! Although I already have some over the knee boots from Pretty Little Thing featured in my last post, I found these the ideal flat addition to my wardrobe and have worn these so much recently! A girl can never have too many shoes right?!

Clueless Vibes

Channeling the Clueless vibe with this cute knitted check co-ord from Missguided, teamed with a chunky gold necklace. I found this such an easy to wear outfit, great to throw on when you need a quick fix look, especially when it needs to be day-to-night friendly.

These cleated sole over the knee boots proved to be a nightmare to get hold of but they were defo worth the wait, they have fast become an Autumn/Winter essential! Similar styles are sold at Schuh, ASOS and Missguided but my size came back in stock first at Pretty Little Thing so I had to snap them up especially as they were only £40 too!! I love the chunky sole, perfect for a day or evening look and the over the knee detail has made skirts so much more wearable...especially in this cold weather when I would usually style them with tights. They also do these in grey and red now...I'm tempted to get the grey pair too!

I've featured the bag in a previous post but I still can't believe this is a Primark beaut, I really love the gold detail which brings together the look perfectly.

Matchy Matchy

As you've probably guessed by now I have a massive obsession with co-ords and love the fact that they have continued over to winter. This grey and blue check knitted set from Warehouse is perfect for the time of year and I love the longer sleeves to the top and roll neck that gives a cosy feel, along with the midi pencil skirt that allows you get your legs out a little without freezing!!

This was an outfit I put together for afternoon tea at Harvey Nichols in Manchester a few weeks back, as I knew we would end up doing a spot of shopping too I wanted something that would keep me warm walking around town but also something a little fancy to fit in with the gorgeous surroundings of Harvey Nichols.

Styling with this fab faux fur off white boxy gilet from Topshop, I already have the black version but wear it so much I thought the white one was a must too. The lace over-sized bow headband is also from Topshop but a few seasons ago...it's one of my favourites and seems to go perfectly with so many of my outfits. I carried on the lace details with these cute socks worn together with canvas boots which are so comfy, I got mine from Topshop but have a similar black pair from Ebay so it's worth a look, I love the sporty vibe they add to the outfit.

Adding a little more fluff as always with a River Island pom pom onto my Boohoo fold over clutch which I think is now only £12...bargain!

Feathers & Fluff

Happy New Year!! I hope everyone enjoyed the Christmas break, I can't believe how fast it went by!! It was so lovely to spend time with friends and family and to relax for a little bit before heading back to work and the crazy world of fashion.

This was the outfit I eventually decided on for my works Christmas party, I know I'm a little late posting this but I feel it's quite versatile, easily worn for so many other occasions which is why I love it so much. This beaut feather trim skirt from Missguided I originally planned to wear as a co-ord with the matching top. In the end I decided it looked a little too dressy for the venue at Bar 2022NQ in Manchester which has a more relaxed quirky vibe. I ended up teaming the nude skirt with a simple ribbed crop top also from Missguided and my trusty Topshop black faux leather jacket. This is actually from last winter but they have a similar version in store now which I will link below.

I added a statement faux fur cat clutch bag from Newlook...I'm in love. Anything with feathers and fluff I seemed to need in my life in 2014 and I'm sure this will continue for 2015. You can also get this clutch in black if your not as obsessed with pastels as me.

The boots were a bargain find from Primark, I love the pointed shape to the front but I'm not going to lie after walking round all night my feet were killing me....although I think this happens with all my shoes so nothing new...meh! I love a boot and sock combo, my collection seems to be ever-growing!! I especially love this black lace pair from Urban Outfitters. If you've checked out my recent Instagram post you will see I've also had a few Topshop sparkly editions. You can never have too many socks...right? Santa knows me well...x

P.s ---> The skirt, jacket and clutch bag have all gone into sale now....happy shopping!! :)
