LFW SS16: Topshop Unique

This has to be one of my favourite collections from LFW, Topshop Unique pieces are just so wearable but still have that catwalk ready elegance. SS16 featured an English garden party vibe with meadow florals, and intricate embellishments. Bringing back tradition British pieces from elaborate fur, chunky cardigans and sweaters, to huge chandelier earrings. Mixing with upcoming trends including leather, lace and prints from florals to polka dots, two prints both a massive trend once again.

The whole collection included an almost work-wear appearance with a masculine tailored feel. Mixing seamlessly with a feminine playful aesthetic including enlarged polka dots and cute fluffy detailing. Beauty was bringing back the eighties too with big hair, red lips and plenty of eyeliner.

I love how the whole range can be mixed together creating an individual style but that's what Topshop does best enabling consumers to bring there own personality to a look.

LFW SS16: Markus Lupfer

I was obsessed with the Markus Lupfer collection last season at LFW so had high expectations for SS16 and I wasn't disappointed! His presentation is always so on point with his signature intricate embellishments and playful appearance, this season featuring a Mexican vibe with a layout of desert flowers. The floral theme continued into the garments with cute artful repeats and a humorous edge with the Mexican wrestler cartoon-like prints. The colour palette was mainly monochrome with little pops of colour and metallic jacquards flowing perfectly from the previous season.

The collection consisted of simplistic a-line dresses, bomber jackets and feminine, fun separates. Many of which featured delicate lace, yet contrasting with a laid-back sporty vibe from the zip up bombers with rib trims, drawcord adjusters and monochrome pumps. I also love the clever use of sheer fabrics allowing you to glimpse through to further layers without hiding the quirky print detailing...a perfect collection.

NYFW SS16: Carolina Herrera

One of my favourite collections from NYFW for SS16, so feminine and flirty with soft pleats and sheer paneling which appeared so delicate and effortless almost floating down the runway.

Styles were elegant from ballgowns to midi dresses, I love the shorter hemlines too adding a modern youthful feel. Featuring a sweet colour palette with shades of pink from candy floss to bubblegum and fuchsia. Fresh whites, mixed along with pops of black adding an edgy vibe to the sophisticated collection.

I love the embellishment detailing and contrasting textures, the neoprene and mesh fabrics create the perfect juxtaposition against the delicate organza. My favourite piece has to be the pastel pink sheer shirt dress...such a dreamy collection!

Missguided Wishlist // Transitional Trends

As the summer days are coming to an end and winter is just around the corner I thought I would share with you all some of my favourite pieces seen recently on Missguided, to get you through this transitional time of year when you have no idea what to wear! Although I do love winter as it gives me a chance to get back to layering which I can't get enough of...not to mention my ever growing obsession with faux fur but for now I'm easing myself back into the colder months with the help of these beaut transition trends.

I'm excited to see there's plenty of suede continuing to AW, from sleeveless dresses, button through skirts, knee high tassel boot and even trench coats. Fur pom poms are back wooo, along with faux fur gilets...I love this long-line winter white version, great to throw on during the colder mornings. I'm also obsessed with all the indigo denim adding a vintage vibe, perfect to team with a chunky crop sweater or layer up with high neck top.

Happy Shopping :)

Ice Queen // Gotham Afternoon Tea MCR

As the Gotham Hotel has only recently opened in Manchester I thought it would be the perfect excuse to try out the afternoon tea....I was not disappointed. I went all pastel for the day and got told I was dressed like the Ice Queen, although what's not to love about that...she's pastel perfection!

I'm obsessed with this shade of blue at the moment, especially since the SS15 Blue Hues event which you can read about in my previous post here. Missguided is always on form with the trends and I love the latest addition with these beaut high neck long-line tunics. The side-split detail is great for layering with anything from jeans to pencil skirts and the lightweight fabric is ideal for this transitional time of year...they have them online in a few different colours too! Topshop also has similar styles in store and I've noticed River Island has knitted versions for A/W.

I layered up against these ASOS ripped skinny jeans and a waterfall sleeveless duster, tying the look together with a matching ice blue crochet clutch and my forever favourite chunky sandals.

The Gotham Hotel has a quirky Batman meets Great Gatsby vibe and amazing architecture keeping in tack detailing from the buildings previous bank years. In fact the vault doors are now the entrance to the members bar. With afternoon tea situated in the Honey room with a glass of fizz to start and onto a delicious selection of sandwiches keeping traditional with smoked salmon and cream cheese, beef and horseradish, ham and Dijon mayonnaise and cheese and chutney. The top tier included homemade scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream and not to forget the middle tier of sweet treats from Eccles cakes, Manchester tarts and Gotham cake. I went for the Radiant Rose tea which I would definitely get again. The whole experience was perfect including the staff too...not to mention the amazing rooftop bar with views across Manchester. I'm now desperate to stay for the night!!
