White Out

At this time of year when Christmas is fast approaching and the festive events keep popping up it's great to have a few easy to wear outfits that you can just throw on that don't take any planning. Don't get me wrong I love outfit planning but sometimes you just don't have the time.

I love this floaty style of dress at the moment, especially in neutral shades which can be styled together with so many options. It also looks beaut under a fur jacket/gilet, teamed with chunky boots and socks adding a slightly more edgy vibe...perfect for those cold days when you're not brave enough to get your toes out. I've added links below to a few of my favourite floaty/swing dresses from across the high-street.

Adding a pop of colour with this Charlotte Simone Bon-Bon pastel pink ball of fluff...the show piece to a more simplistic outfit.

Hope you all grabbed some Black Friday bargains...I'm currently waiting for a Missguided delivery to arrive any minute now. Keep an eye out on my Instagram/Twitter/Snapchat for a sneak peak (links below)

Earn Your Stripes

Forever drawn to cigarette trousers, I knew these Topshop beauts had to be mine. The linear stripe is so versatile and the colours look great teamed against a simple white knit...and yes I know sandals are not the most appropriate type of footwear right now but I had to get one last wear out of these Primark bargains as I will be living in boots for months to come...winter has well and truly arrived.

How amazing is this staircase too?! Let's just take a minute to appreciate THAT chandelier!! The Grosvenor in Chester made it hard to resist taking a few snaps, the whole hotel is just beautifully traditional. If you have never ventured to this hotel before I would definitely recommend it for a little weekend getaway...plus it's right in the middle of Chester so great for shopping too.

New Home // New Inspirations

So a few weeks ago Matt and I moved into our first home together which has been very exiting but explains why I have been off the radar recently....plus if you follow me on Instagram (@ktmillar) you will have noticed I also managed to squeeze in a trip with work to the far east slap bang in the middle of the whole moving process.

It really has been a crazy few weeks but I thought I'd share with you all some of the journey so far, starting at the beginning...the research stage. I'm forever on Pinterest finding inspirational images so I found this a great starting point for getting some design ideas for each room, adding to each pages as I've been inspired along the way when shopping, through magazines and from websites such as Instagram, Pinterest and Tumblr. These few pages have literally been like my bible after we got the keys from helping to pick the right colours to  selecting all the accessories...being organised made the whole process so much easier even if you do change you mind a little along the way.

Luckily for us our house is only a few years old so it was only really decorating to be done...the fun part and with help from family and friends it's great to see my ideas and inspirations coming to life! I never thought I would enjoy interior design as much as clothing but I have to admit it's a close contender! I think these few pages also prove like any fashion...you don't have to spend a fortune to create the look you're after, it's all about the research.

I'll keep you posted with the progression along the way...including some before and after snaps and also a video I have been putting together of the whole process.

I've tried to include where most of the items are from on each page, the majority are from a few of my favourite homeware websites/stores including --->

Tribal Trial

I love the sports meets tribal look about this outfit featuring a long sleeve sweatshirt with stripe detailing and an over-sized graphic print. The beading and embroidery is so beaut which sits perfectly against the bold cobalt blue...I couldn't resist the matching skirt too!

Keeping the sports vibe throughout with these casual suede look Topshop skater boots and adding some cute detailing with the lace trim socks and fluffy pom pom bag charm...forever loving faux fur. Although I'm really not a fan of the cold winter weather already making an appearance I am however very exited to roll out all my furry jackets and accessories again to start layering up!! Could this be the only bonus of winter??...apart from Christmas of course!

London Life

So as October has greeted us with some unexpected sunshine I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to grab the chance for one last sunshine filled post before the winter weather sets in and I roll out all the layers. If you haven't already been to The Trafalgar Hotel Vista rooftop bar I would definitely recommend it...even just to grab a cocktail and admire the amazing view across the city.

I went for a Topshop filled matchy matchy outfit for a day out in London with a soft pink sleeveless jacket along with these cute culottes from the Topshop Reclaim section. They weren't actually part of a set but the colour match was spot on and I though they looked cute teamed together. I wasn't really sure about culottes before purchasing these but I picked them up during a personal shopping day in Topshop Manchester and fell in love. They are super comfy and I love the high waisted feature perfect for tucking into a basic white tee and layering up with jewellery.

Accessorizing with metallic gold tones with these Primark gladiators, a simple waist belt and chunky bracelets. Not to forget these beaut Jeepers Peepers sunglasses...forever loving a mirrored lens.

Luxemme Love

I love finding new inspiring brands and was excited to work with Luxemme as soon as they got in touch to collaborate. Luxemme are a new brand combining Parisian chic with Manchester style all with a luxury twist, selling fashion forward clothing online at really affordable prices. I'm always on the look out for new brands like this as I love fast fashion pieces and it's such a great way to update your wardrobe for the new season without spending a fortune!

Forever loving a co-ord I was drawn to this white beauty straight away with the cute lace trim detail which is part of the limited edition collection. I'm always cautious when buying white as so many fabrics can be see-through but I was really impressed with the quality, the two piece is also lined, even better!...fitting true to size too. I never work with brands that I wouldn't 100% be happy to wear/buy myself so I can honestly say I was really impressed and have already got a few other pieces on my wishlist...check out a few of these below.

Teaming alongside this fluffy beaut Charlotte Simone pastel pink Bon-Bon bag and Public Desire heels continuing the pink detail with these cute metallic socks. I also styled with a light wash denim shirt adding a casual vibe making it the perfect day-to-night look...you can't beat a multi purpose outfit!
