LFW AW15: J.JS Lee

Opening the season for London Fashion Week J.JS Lee the Central Saint Martins trained designer took references from her favourite family photos and nostalgic items of clothing, yet staying within her usual minimalistic signature. I was instantly drawn to the fresh neutral colour palette and love the balance of masculine and feminine details. The relaxed oversized shapes with a play on proportion and the paper bag trousers cinched in at the waist adding feminine touches.

The masculine details of the chunky shoes, black pixie hair and tailored structure blended in with the delicate feminine heels, flowing dresses and soft quilts. Pastel splashes came in the form of Mongolian fur and hints of bright pink could also be seen in exposed zip details. The masculine/feminine juxtaposition was also apparent in the fabric mixing and layering throughout, making a fascinating collection. I'm sure we will see a few of these details filtering onto the high-street and I hope it's the Mongolian fur and the return of the paper bag trousers!
